Regional Institutions

The South Asian Centre for Teacher Development (SACTD) works in close collaboration with the eight South Asian member countries—Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka—to advance teacher education across the Region. Through regional partnership, SACTD promotes innovative teaching practices, inclusive and equitable learning environments to strength teacher capacities to suit to the 21 st Century Teaching and Learning demands.

SACTD currently collaborates with nearly 100 educational institutions across the region, enabling exchange of best practices, educational research, and professional expertise, as well as joint programs, policy dialogue, and capacity-building initiatives, in line with the mandate of a UNESCO C2C.

By leveraging on the shared cultural values and local knowledge, SACTD serves as a dynamic platform for collaboration and innovation, empowering educators and their institutions to address emerging educational challenges and to contribute to Sustainable Development  Goal 4 on “Education for all” in South Asia.
