  • Audience: Teacher educators and teachers
  • Focus: Language, culture, and Fulbright opportunities

Output: Awareness and engagement with international teaching and research opportunities

Online Course on Educational Action Research

10 Weeks. Weekly sessions (1 hr./week)
Asynchronous materials and discussion forums
Final project: Individual or collaborative action research proposal

Workshop on Problem-Based Learning (PBL)

Teacher educators and teachers

  • Focus: 1.  
  • Describe the theory and practice of problem-based learning
  • Identify the best practice in PBL related to open-discovery and guided-discovery learning.
  • Facilitate a PBL session with students
  • Develop and write problems in their own disciplines
  • Identify the advantages and limitations of PBL

Outcome: Encourage participants to use PBL in their teaching approach. 

The Best Presentation of Abstract on “How I will Include PBL in My Teaching” will be awarded 50,000 LKR.

SEL National Rollout in Sri Lanka

Implementation Phase and Development of MIL program with SARO and IGNOU

  • Technical partner: UNESCO MGIEP & SARO, IGNOU
  • Activities: Training of trainers, mentoring, rollout in NCOEs and TTCs

Output: Trained SEL facilitators and initial classroom integration & , Developed MIL program
